They don't pick-up small particles like an upright or canister, and could be unable to pick up dirt close to thresholds or baseboards.

It also has a clever mapping system, and can be set to only run for certain hours (a beneficial feature to keep pets and children who are prone to mischief from running wild). The Shark isn't as powerful as other mop/robot combinations, but it does pick up pet hair and hair with a high degree of accuracy. It's also the highest price of our top picks.

Best for Hard Floors

Robot vacuums are the ideal choice for hardwood floors as they are able to easily maneuver around obstacles and not damage the floor's surface. They do an excellent job of removing dust and crumbs, however they are unable to deal with pet hair and larger debris. They also lack the suction power of an expensive upright or canister vacuum, which is why they're not an ideal option for rooms with carpets or deep cleaning upholstery.
